Friends of the Walt
Walter Stinson Park in University Heights, Ohio, is a gathering place for residents and visitors alike. Completed in 2016 on the site of the former Northwood Elementary School, the park has ADA-accessible playgrounds, walking paths, a gazebo, and rain gardens for crucial habitat.
Mayor Mike Brennan asked for help removing invasive species from the rain garden in late summer 2019, and a volunteer group known as Friends of the Walt was born. (Read “Weeds Meet Their Match at The Walt.”)
